Artist Bio
Artist statement:
People have asked me what photographers have inspired me. I tell them that my grandpa and Deirdre Monk are the two people that give me the most inspiration. My grandpa used black and white film and hand colored the photos; he did this because it was cheaper then working in color film. Deirdre Monk taught me the basic functions of photography. With this knowledge and natural talent I went off into the world shooting what ever caught my eye.
I believe that the photograph should come out on the frame. I work with natural materials, like using rocks and drift wood from the
North
Shore along with other natural materials that I find on my travels. Now I use stained glass to continue the photograph out on to the frame. This process is so unique that it’s quickly becoming popular and a good source of income. The nice thing about using mosaic style on the frames is that now two pieces will ever look alike.
I now would like to go into commercial photography and photojournalism.
